Wishing all the children I’ve met during my school visits — and all those I’m still yet to meet — a very happy half term! Get some rest and have some fun. Last term was a long one!!!
The heavenly library at Putnoe Primary School, run by the magical Miss Pedley.
When I was asked whether I’d be able to visit Putnoe Primary School in Bedford, I wasn’t too sure how to respond, due to the six-hour round trip it would entail. But I eventually said yes, and crossed my fingers that I wouldn’t find the distance too tricky to travel.
Today’s visit was to Tibberton Primary. With just over 100 pupils there, I was able to follow my assembly with workshops for Reception right through to Year 6. And didn’t we have some fun?!?
To kick school visits off this week, I spent today at Charlton Kings Junior, just a few miles from home. Things were a little topsy turvy for this particular visit.
I’m thrilled to finally reveal the fabulous cover of WARNING: May Contain Dragons – illustrated by Theo Jarvis (age 12).
Ever since WARNING: Magic Can Be Dangerous! was published at the end of April this year, I’ve felt like a Tasmanian devil riding a roller coaster in a snowstorm. Yet I wouldn’t have had things any other way!
I’ve visited so many incredible schools over the past few months, so choosing where to spend World Book Day 2025 should have been tough!
The sun shone this morning, but not as much as each of the pupils at Berkhampstead School — or ‘Berky’, as it’s fondly known. And what a warm welcome I received!
There was so much love at Ashley Manor Prep School today. Firstly, seeing so many children clutching a copy of WARNING: Magic Can Be Dangerous! when they filed into the morning assembly really warmed my heart.
Elmley Castle First School is… without a doubt… A Little Piece of Heaven on Earth! It was pure joy hosting an assembly and workshops for every single one of the 89 angelic pupils there today.
School visit number 34, to Foxmoor Primary in Stroud, was a delight! It seemed there wasn’t a single child there who didn’t enjoy reading, and many of the pupils were keen writers, too. And so many of the children went home with a certificate today.
