Dear Diary,
I was on the road early today to ensure I made it to Tadpole Farm Primary in plenty of time. And from the minute I arrived there, it was all go! With around 450 pupils in total, the hall was packed for the morning assembly. And with two classes per Year Group for each of the four workshops I hosted, it was a fast-paced, non-stop, noisy day. But I wouldn’t have had it any other way. The ideas the pupils come up with for their characters and stories during my school visits never fail to amaze me, and today was certainly no exception. It was lovely to hear some of the children read their stories out to the rest of the group at the end of each of the sessions, too. It was a wonderful visit, and the pupils kept me smiling from the moment I got there until the moment I left – despite the fact that I’ve almost lost my voice now! It’s still so refreshing to witness this young generation being passionate about reading and writing. And… from what I’ve seen today… there are definitely many future authors and illustrators amongst the pupils at Tadpole Farm!
