Dear Diary,

Elmley Castle First School is… without a doubt… A Little Piece of Heaven on Earth! It was pure joy hosting an assembly and workshops for every single one of the 89 angelic pupils there today. Year 5 blew me away with the silence that ensued whilst they concentrated on the activities, and the fact that everyone wanted to share their creations with the whole class – and I’m not surprised they wanted to share, as there were some cracking ideas dreamt up! Years 3 & 4 had so many super questions for me, and again were so eager to share their stories with everyone. In Years 1 & 2, all number of character and story ideas were flying around the room in no time. And in Reception and Pre-School, instead of being called ‘B’, I was referred to by most of the pupils as ‘Mrs Bumble Bee’, which I must admit, I found adorable… along with the fact that my giant book prop was taller than most of the pupils)! Isi and the staff were incredible, providing fantastic help throughout the day. Along with the pupils, they even put together a beautiful handmade thank-you card, and handed it to me shortly before I left. (And yes, it was very hard to hold back the tears!) The amazing pupils had so much enthusiasm, engagement, and excitement. I can’t wait to return next year with WARNING: May Contain Dragons. And the beauty is that they don’t currently have a Year 6 class, meaning – I hope – that all of them will still be there when I revisit!!! Today was heavenly!!!
