Dear Diary,
Today, I was at another marvellous middle school. That’s two in a row now… snap! From the moment I arrived at Abbey Park Middle School in Pershore this morning, there was a real buzz of excitement in the air. And I soon realised it was because I was visiting! How amazing is that?!? I have to admit that the assembly was one of my most favourite yet – with giggles galore as I read from my book, and an abundance of questions that I quickly ran out of time to answer. (I think I worked my way through most of them during my classroom sessions throughout the day.) I really do love putting on activity sessions for pupils, and spending quality one-on-one time with them whilst they work, rather than heading home immediately after an assembly. And today, I hosted four sessions for Years 4, 5, and 6. The teacher in my second session was a real sport, reading aloud the story that one of his pupils had written about him – which was brilliant, might I add. And in every single workshop, the majority of the children were keen to share their stories with their whole class. I was looked after by the staff so wonderfully from the second I arrived in the car park this morning until it was sadly time for me to leave. I can’t wait to return to Abbey Park next year to spend some more time with the incredible pupils there.
