Dear Diary,

What a wonderful way to start the weekend – an author event at Waterstones Worcester. Maddy, Jess, and the team did an incredible job arranging everything, and made today so memorable! My very first bookshop event; I still can’t quite believe it!!! It was lovely to meet everyone who came along today and joined in with the fun. The children’s section in Waterstones Worcester is beautiful, and perfectly set up for author events. The children were far too clever for their years, though, and wouldn’t believe that magic wasn’t responsible for rotating my giant book prop… or that grown-ups don’t do colouring because they’re simply not allowed to after turning eighteen. The thought of many more children reading my book as they head to bed this evening is giving me the energy boost to stay awake just a little longer before I collapse into bed myself. And I have a funny feeling that some of the parents of those children will also be having a sneaky read, even though the book is NOT SUITABLE FOR PARENTS! With three days off now before I’m out on my travels again to host three more events, I’m going to treat myself to some downtime tomorrow and get some rest.
