Dear Diary,

Today, I was at Finlay Community School in Gloucester, doing what I love – spreading the joy of reading and writing. And the pupils very kindly all wore purple, to match my book cover! How cool is that?! I don’t think I’ll ever tire of visiting schools and spending time with enthusiastic children who get stuck into all the activities I put on, ask countless interesting questions, and have such wonderful imaginations that I know there’s a least one book inside each and every one of them… waiting to get out. The sheer speed at which these children can create stories, design book covers, and produce beautiful written work and artwork still amazes me. If my old brain worked at even a tenth of the speed their young brains operate at, I’d have book three written in no time! The pupils and teachers of Finlay Community School filled the day with fun, laughter, inspiration, and silliness. I can’t wait to visit again next year with my second book in the series.
